Words to live by: "If you don't rescue, don't breed!"
Some years ago we took 13 stray cats to the local pet shelter. Eight of them were just kittens. (We kept back 4!) They'd been dumped in the neighborhood, and ended up under our house, mewing loudly. They were so dirty we could barely see what colors they were, and hungry enough to eat right off of our fingers, even though they were scared to death.
Within just a few days, we bathed them, and they became as cuddly as could be, and ready to find forever homes. They had the best temperaments cats could have. There were so many stray cats in our town that season, it was terrible. They all deserve loving homes.
Small, loose pets may attract cougars and coyotes, which may in turn look for more small cats, dogs - and children - as prey.
Please, remember to spay or neuter your cats and dogs, for everyone's welfare.
Omar's Mellow Yellow was an outstanding Great Dane. Notice; natural ears! He was a loving, intelligent friend.
